Did you know the state of Did you know the state of Florida does not have licensing requirements for Home Inspectors or Mold Inspectors? There are no mandatory education requirements. No mandatory experience requirements, and no mandatory continuing education! Have your home inspected by an experienced and educated person!
Don’t be taken advantage of by “Licensed Mold Inspectors” or “Mold Remediators”. Since there is no licensing for Mold Inspectors in the state of Florida, there is no requirement for proof of training, experience, or knowledge.
Stachybotrys is one of the more common types of mold here in Florida. However, not all samples of this mold produce mycotoxins, the toxin known to causes problems with humans. Although we can test to see if Stachybotrys is present, there is currently no test to determine if it is producing mycotoxins!
Building Inspectors, Inc. knows that testing mold is not required by the EPA. The mandate is to simply remove any and all mold found. This can usually be done with normal cleaning tools and a respirator/mask.
